Make Pennsylvania a Better State for Walking and Biking
Join or Renew Now

Do you want to support the state’s active transportation movement? Join the community of people who support walking and biking across the Keystone State: Pennsylvania Walks and Bikes.

Your membership supports:

  • Our Safe Roads Campaign to update state policies and improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.  Key components include the four foot passing bill and the vulnerable user bill.
  • The Safe Routes to School State Network where we are sharing best practices and building momentum for programs to help Pennsylvania’s students walk and bike to school in a safe, supportive environment.
  • The annual Pennsylvania Walks and Bikes Summit where advocates from around the state gather in Harrisburg to network, learn, and meet elected officials.
  • The state’s presence at the National Bike Summit and outreach to the Pennsylvania congressional delegation to make sure walking and biking are important parts of the next federal transportation bill.

Since our formation in 2009, we have connected together active transportation advocates from around Pennsylvania to ensure that walking and biking have a voice in state government and beyond.  We have the plan and the momentum to have a lasting impact on the quality of our communities.

We cannot make any of our plans come true without the support of our members.  Many of our members choose to give $52 — a dollar a week — to make our roads and paths better.  Committing to a dollar a week is a strong step towards making Pennsylvania a more bicycle-friendly community — and it costs less than what you spend on gas.

Your membership donation is tax deductible, and you will get the satisfaction of supporting better walking and biking. Your support of Pennsylvania Walks and Bikes will help you — and your neighbors — find more ways to be active: for exercise, recreation, and commuting.
